How we verify pricing
Every price record must include a link to the provider’s official pricing
page (sourceUrl) and an ISO verification date
(verifiedAt). Our automated validation gate fails any record
missing these fields, so a price without a source cannot ship. Each row in
the pricing tables shows its verification date and links to the source.
How we verify token counts
For OpenAI models we count with the exact o200k BPE tokenizer
running in your browser. For all other providers, where no official
client-side tokenizer is freely available, we display a clearly labeled
estimate based on a tested character ratio. Estimates are marked “est.”
and never presented as exact.
Freshness and re-verification
Provider pricing changes frequently. We re-verify records and update the verification date when a provider announces a change. A record with an old verification date should be treated as provisional until re-checked against the linked source.
Corrections
Material corrections are logged in the changelog with the date and what changed. To report a suspected error, email hello@ai-token-calculator.com with a link to the official source; corrections with a source link are prioritized.
