Why CSV token counts differ
CSV is compact but every delimiter and repeated header adds up across many rows. For large tables, sampling a few rows and multiplying is often the practical estimate.

How do I estimate tokens for a huge CSV?
Count the tokens in a representative sample of rows, then multiply by the total row count. It is far faster than pasting a million rows and close enough for budgeting.
